Investments and Operational Risk Analyst

Job description

We are a mission-driven, venture-backed startup growing quickly into a large financial enterprise. We solve complex, life-changing problems for older adults, people with disabilities, and people recovering from addiction, all of whom are often neglected by the financial services industry.

We are looking for an Investments and Operational Risk Analyst to play a key role in our investment advisory and prepaid card businesses. This is a high-impact role for someone who is passionate about our mission and relishes the fact that every day we have the privilege of serving those who are often overlooked by big financial institutions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create and maintain control and desktop policies and procedures for operational processes governing investments, financial management, and prepaid access
  • Investigate prepaid access and trust investment/disbursement transactions for fraudulent and/or potentially suspicious activity
  • Create and maintain core portfolio and holdings metrics and analytics
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, including Form ADV and Form U4, among others
  • Work with applicable counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and other investment and operations professionals to ensure that the firm is exam-ready
  • Review and reconcile detailed financial transactions and data
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews
  • Review and approve correspondence across multiple mediums to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Aggregate financial data and information from multiple sources

Who you are:

  • Risk-focused and able to assist driving compliance oversight needs for both the card and RIA businesses, including oversight of fraudulent and/or potentially suspicious transaction activity
  • Fast learner with 2 - 3 years of operations and/or compliance experience, who can quickly master new contexts, industries, or sets of requirements
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to form partnerships and working relationships across the company
  • Strategic thinker who is data-driven and has an analytical approach to solving problems
  • Good listener with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Relationship builder who excels at developing relationships based on trust
  • Love learning from real-time feedback and hands-on experience

Why you’ll love us:

  • We’ve got the energy and passion of a startup combined with the professionalism of a financial services firm and the compassion of mission-driven organization that truly cares about the people we serve.
  • We offer competitive salary packages, Health, Dental & Vision coverage, flexible working hours, early-stage equity, and an awesome vacation package.
  • Our customers are not only grateful but are the absolute best. We have the privilege of providing financial protection for vulnerable members of society and partnering with expert service providers to do so. Our customers and partners  love us and we love them back. You can sleep soundly every night knowing you are doing a really wonderful thing by getting our services into more hands.
  • We treat each other like we treat our customers: with 100% respect and dignity. Diversity and inclusion are cultural values we take very seriously and welcome team members of all backgrounds and identities.
  • Our office is dog friendly, full of snacks, catered lunch, and friendly, caring people.
