Operations Associate

Job description

We are a fast-growing, mission-driven financial services company that provides quality financial services for all: from protecting grandma’s money from scammers to providing supplemental financial tools that support veterans with disabilities.

This is a unique role for an ambitious, highly organized person who loves helping people, is fascinated by solving operational challenges while also executing effectively on day-to-day tasks, and wants to have a hand in a variety of different projects across the company and learn directly from our leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who wants to eventually grow into a startup chief of staff or chief operating officer, or leading people operations, business operations or finance. This role will be based in San Francisco or Denver.

What You'll Do

  • Be an expert internal resource for all team members on our finance and people operations processes, software, and policies
  • Execute on daily and weekly tasks for finance, contracts and people operations
  • Identify trends and suggest and manage the implementation of process improvements, serving as an internal consultant
  • Conduct internal and external research to provide team members with answers to their questions about payroll, benefits, expenses and IT
  • Strategically prioritize and coordinate the schedule of our co-founder and COO
  • Represent company leadership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan and book logistics for culture-building events, retreats, off-sites, and company meetings
  • Be a steward of company culture by helping to ensure all our team members are able to do their best work on a day-to-day basis
  • Lead special projects as requested, which may include research, analysis, presentation preparation and drafting communications

  • Meticulous about details and highly organized - you love using the latest organizational systems and methods to stay on top of your calendar, inbox, files, and project plans
  • Humility and an openness to dig-in operationally and be hands-on wherever needed - you are comfortable with the unknown
  • An analytical mind and the ability to break down large challenges into manageable steps - and enthusiasm for solving problems and finding answers to new questions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a customer-service mindset - you love helping other people to get the information and support they need to do their best work
  • Extremely tech savvy and passion for learning new software programs and teaching others about new technologies
  • A desire to learn and grow quickly in your career - you see every day as a chance to learn something new
